Clinical Study

Investing in Clinical Science

Victhom is committed to sponsoring and conducting thoughtfully designed clinical studies that are aimed at demonstrating device safety, efficacy and technical performance, and improvements in patient outcomes. We collaborate with qualified investigators and clinical research facilities to conduct studies to evaluate the benefits of the Neurostep® in various patient populations. It is through preclinical and clinical studies that Neurobionix develops new therapies and discovers better ways to improve the quality of life for people with neuromuscular dysfunctions.

Gait Disorders, a Multidisciplinary Approach

The diagnosis and treatment for people suffering from gait disorders, and specifically foot drop, can involve a combination of health care professionals including primary care physicians, physiatrists and physical therapists in an effort to diagnose, rehabilitate and maintain the patient. We believe that the potential benefits of the implantable Neurostep® investigational medical device can be best realized by working through this well established continuum of patient care. As a result, we actively seek advice and consultation from recognized leaders in each of these respective areas of clinical and scientific disciplines to ensure the highest quality of patient care and outcomes.

Company-Sponsored Clinical Activities

Currently, Victhom is sponsoring a clinical study at several clinical centers in three different countries to evaluate the safety, efficacy and technical performance of the Neurostep® in persons suffering from foot drop secondary to an upper motor neuron lesion. In addition, we are in the process of developing a U.S. pivotal study to demonstrate the safety, efficacy and technical performance of the Neurostep® implantable neurostimulation device in an applicable population of foot drop patients.
